Appearance (character) 浅黄色或微绿色针状结晶或粉末。无气味。无味。在光的作用下色渐变深。通常含3分子结晶水,95～97℃干燥失去2分子结晶水,在110℃、1.33kPA压力下12小时后变成无水,125℃变成棕色,195～197℃变成柔韧可塑物,214～215℃分解并起泡。无水物易吸湿。1G溶于约8L水、约200ml沸水、7ml沸甲醇。溶于吡啶、甲酰胺和碱液,微溶于乙醇、丙酮和乙酸乙酯,几乎不溶于氯仿、苯、二硫化碳和石油溶剂。稀溶液遇三氧化铁呈绿色。比旋光度 [α]23D+13.82°(乙醇中)。
